Check an attachment before you send

Attach a file to a message and it appears as a chip under the body. Double click the chip and the file opens over your message, so you can see what you are about to send before you send it.

A PDF opens in the TALISK_HQ viewer, with page controls and a download button. An image opens on its own. Either way the message stays exactly as you left it underneath. Close the preview by clicking the dark area around it, by pressing Escape, or with the close button.

This works the same way in the full compose window and in a reply written inside a thread. If you prefer the keyboard, move to the chip with Tab and press Enter.

Which files you can preview

PDFs and images. The chip tells you which is which: a file you can open shows a magnifier cursor when you hover it, and one you cannot looks like a plain label. A CAD file, a spreadsheet or a zip has no preview, so double clicking it does nothing rather than opening an empty window.

Forwarding a message

A forward carries the original message's attachments, and those preview too. It is the same file the recipient will get, read back from the mailbox it arrived in.

Reopening a saved draft

Attachments that were already saved with a draft show as chips but cannot be previewed. Their contents are held on the draft rather than in your browser. Files you attach in this sitting preview normally.

Removing the wrong one

The small × on a chip takes that file off the message. Previewing a file never removes it, and removing one never opens it.

This works on every chip, including the ones on a draft you saved earlier and came back to. The file disappears from the message straight away; a moment later TALISK_HQ rewrites the saved copy in your mail account without it, so what goes out is what you can see.
